Synopsis :
Début des années 1940, en Union Soviétique. Aliosha, ouvrier stakhanoviste de son état, tombe amoureux de l'institutrice du village, après avoir été reçu pas Staline en personne suite à ses excellents résultats productifs. Alors qu'ils coulent des jours heureux, l'Allemagne Nazie, dirigée par Adolph Hitler, se met à lancer des attaques en vue d'éradiquer les socialistes de la surface de la Terre. Ils captureront l'institutrice... Aliosha, bien déterminé à la retrouver, s'engage dans l'armée pour défendre son pays....

great score as well by shostakovich..it is a propagandistic movie and Hitler and his acolytes are played in a clownish, grotesque way, but it is not a bad movie at all

@andres6868 Technically, it's effectively a very good job. I've seen a lot of movies from the 40's - 50's and this one have the best special effects.

Dommage qu'elles soient noyées dans un océan de niaiserie...

@XGV25 Tout à fait. J'avais lu quelque part que ce film était, à son époque tout du moins, le film non-américain ayant bénéficié du plus gros budget de toute l'histoire du cinéma. Comme quoi l'URSS se donnait vraiment les moyens de faire sa propagande XD

Der Utergang is mostly about Hitler, this movie is about the war in Soviet Union, so it has to portray Hitler quickly. If you look for Hitler speeches around the net(the real ones) you will notice that he was clownish irl.

This is not a merely "propagandistic movie". About 90% of the movie can be confirmed by historians from Russia and the West, both communists and burgueoises.

Hitler is portraited how he used to be, if you doubt, just look for Hitler speeches and you will see that he is not that much different from the one at this movie.

You may mention Der Utergang, but most of "Der Utergang" is about Hitler, this movie is not about Hitler specifically, so he is quickly shown at his "best".

Thanks for uploading...it's fascinating to compare this with Der Untergang...Here, Hitler is much more of a clownish figure
