Procedure to bleed the air out of the hydraulic clutch master cylinder. Use this method if you have a mushy pedal and you've tried to bleed the system at the slave cylinder. Very useful if you ran out of fluid and got air in the system

  • Guy sold me his truck cheap because he couldn't get it bled to drive. Been parked for 6 months. I got bought it, got it down the street to walgreens parking lot, used you technique, and drove home perfectly!!

I really would love to buy you a case of beer!!

    Thanks!!

  • @genodgeno Glad you got it back on the road!

  • What year model is this Ranger?

  • @moviedawg84 Hi, my Ranger is a 1999 but the procedure is the same for must Rangers with a hydraulic clutch.

  • Not having to take the whole thing out was huge! I'd buy you a beer if i could!

  • @hairb9 Yeah, even though its kind of cramped up there underneath, it's still better than taking everything apart. Cheers!

  • @chrisreinhardt1 When I han mine on the bench, I had a hard time getting the fluid to come out I ended pu taking a part the hose and a kind of forcing the fluid in and out of it. The line has a nasty u in it which traps air. Th U is done to route the line without reguards to poor me and you that have too deal with it. Sadly after all these years Ford is doing the same thing. In summary you may have to take the master out and do it.

  • Hay Champ. You have your finger on a problem that is all over the place. Some mechanics need to know what you know. I had my truck in a shop for clutch work. They did everything except they didn't want to do this part. I came home with a soft clutch and I had to do it myself. I took the master out and did it; its a pain messing with doing anything with clutch work of a 3.0 ranger.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this! Does anybody have any tips for getting that darn lock ring back in?

Also, any guesses on why no fluid came out? I fully removed the piston and the reservoir is full. Clogged line maybe?

    Thanks

  • thanx simple vid but now i know something i wouldve thaught was a lil harder

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to post this! It really did the trickl
