  • The Dobbs clubfoot brace may improve parental compliance, however, the position of the foot that is maintained through the use of his brace is NOT the therapeutic position that is needed to maintain the correction. This brace is INEFFECTIVE at maintaining the therapeutic position that is needed.

  • @ROMEOKILO13 The Dobbs clubfoot brace has been shown to be EFFECTIVE in both maintaining clubfoot correction as well as improving parental compliance. In fact, the Dobbs brace is the only clubfoot brace whose efficacy has been published in peer review literature. The correct position of the feet in a clubfoot brace are in external rotation which the Dobbs brace accomplishes. The bar was originally designed to be used with AFO style shoes which prevent any tendency for ankle equinus.

  • @ROMEOKILO13 There is now a new Dobbs bar that is recommended for use with any of the standard shoe designs including Markell, Mitchell, and Semeda brands. The new bar features a dorsiflexion assist mechanism which still allows all of the mobility of the original Dobbs bar but with the added feature that keeps the ankles in 15 degrees of dorsiflexion at rest.

  • Our son is 16 mos old and has used the Dobbs brace from the beginning. He has just begun walking! Although the brace is great, I wouldn't be too upset if you have the solid bar style-what I think is much more important is using it as prescribed. This is not an "option" by my estimation-the bar must be worn unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Stick to it parents!

  • My baby recently stared to wear them but he got the other kind it's so frustrating I wish he would of gotten this instead I haven't sleep for a whole week how do I as fir them

  • we are lucky i guess...my son has one club foot . the bar is set to 70% and he doesnt mind it. he sleps and plays just fine

  • I tried and tried, but my son can't sleep with the brace on. I take the bar off and leave the shoes on, otherwise nobody sleeps. I gave it a full week's try...couldn't do it. I hope this won't effect his feet (they look fine when the shoes are off). The shoes are only at 30% too.
