Wow this looks like the perfect solution to my braking needs! I am 55 years old and am getting back into shape so I can return to my favorite way of staying in shape. The way I usually stopped was to roll into the grass off the streets in my neighborhood! Not the best method, but I always felt like I was loosing my balance with the rear stopper. I will look forward to this being accepted for sale, hopefully by the time I fit enough to skate again.

I had disk brakes in my Rollerblade Coyote's .... i'm not a fan. I feel they prevent you from really digging in and planting your weight backwards when coming to a fast stop.

That's a great innovation. I really loved the PBS brakes (rubber on ground AND clasps onto the last wheel, creating VERY effective and short stopping distances) on my Oxygen's and recently (after over a decade and a half from my last set of skates) purchased a set of Rollerblades with the traditional 'simple' rubber stopper on the ground brake. Wow... it was scary how much further it took me to stop than my old Oxygen PBS brakes. These 4xs brakes look awesome !!! I wonder if I can retrofit them

If this comes to market, I might actually try to learn inline skating again. It was always the braking that got me...too unstable. Finally gave up. Good luck! Hope this happens soon.

Greg, getting these to market has been a long road. The latest ETA is spring of 2014. You can contact the inventor via a form on his web site. That link is on the info tab of this video. Wish the news was better! Liz

"We are making good progress, and expect to have the system ready for marketing the first quarter of 2012." says inventor Alex Bellehumeur.

How I made it work PART TWO:
- Brake activation pressure is felt at the top rear edge of the cuff
- All four wheels remain in contact with the pavement throughout
- Focus on front wheel pressure essentially equalizes it across the wheelbase
LizGetRolling 2 years ago
How I made it work:
- Brake sensitivity is adjusted to skater's needs or preference
- On initiation, torso is upright and stacked over the feet (no bending forward)
- Braking skate is extended forward by straightening that knee
- Stance is narrow with thighs and knees together (no lunge, no width)
- Braking skate is ahead of support skate and within hip width
- Braking leg is at a 15 - 20 degree angle to the pavement

@X13bloodwolf, See photos and instructions on Get Rolling Blog. Skate swap article describes Rollerblade's Spark Pro but should have enough detail for your needs.
