Compost screening with wheel barrow screen 2009

Here is a demo using the screen. I get most of my topsoil by sifting it thru this screen. Takes out the large cobbles, weeds sticks. Lets me get the soil ready to mix with perlite, home compost & bone meal.

I have another made with a diamond grate smaller hole size for other soil areas.

I've since made one of these out of smaller sized grating. The soil here is rocky. To make garden soil we mix sifted dirt with last years compost with worm castings and perlite. The soil here is quiet good, but the evergreen trees shade this part of the yard so we only get 8 hours of full sun. The noise in the background are the neighbors kids.
