Main Road in Eltham on Xmas Day 2011.
Flood from Linear Park washes away section of railway embankment and floods Judge Book Elderly Citizens Home.
Underneath the railway embankment you can see the remnants of an old bridge? The old creek bed has reclaimed itself for the day!
Was that my imagination or did that 4wd spin out in the intersection at 30 seconds mark?
Sorry for those in Eltham who really copped it.

@hnturs12 The original surveyors report called for a bridge, it got one. Then the bridge aged and needed replacing so they tossed in a pipe and filled in the bridge. Those piers for the trestle have been buried since 1970 ish. The department of shortcuts made a poor choice.

Oh wow, the rail bridge got destroyed! Hopefully they can fix it before school starts so I don't have to catch a replacement bus -.-

Yeah I was in the thick of it too - up the road from here - it looked like we had snow and fog in the middle of summer.
