I have always had some love for and questions about the mysterious Dinosaurs.
They must've had a hard time with it all. But one of the Dinosaurs that always intrigued me the most was the Pterodactyl. (Pronounced Tair-Oh-Dak-Till) See, I do know how to pronounce it, but figured that they had a hard time with spelling in the Dinosaur age, so voila, PTERODACTYL. I know there are many types of kits like this on the market, but this one caught my eye because of the size and the radio I already had. It uses the AR 6400 from my Parkzone Sukhoi. The whole thing only weighs .8 ounce and is a blast to fly. (That is Point 8 ounce!)

I saw the ad in Model Aviation Magazine, the official publication of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. http://www.modelaircraft.org.

The ad was from PteroWorks. http://www.pteroworks.com/ptero_micro.htm

It was fun and educational for me to build.

And of course the Micro J-3 cub is from Horizon Hobby. http://www.horizonhobby.com

I also used the Mercury Adhesives, as they are user friendly, fast and dependable!

The Lipo Battery is 150Mah from Common Sense RC http://commonsenserc.com/

If you have some time, you may like this project for one of those old Parkzone radios. It took me about 8 hours to build it from start to finish (taking pictures and all). Now, I could do it much faster,

Best regards,

  • It just needs a pair of red LED's in the eye sockets...

  • Just a tip: When soldering two wires together, twist them together first, and then apply solder to hold them together. Much better connection.

  • It flies very well!

    Great video!

  • Dave, with this to do elevon mixing, a Champ reciever has only 3 channels, and is able to have elevon mixing done without hard TX programing.

  • Did me good to get my mind off of other things for a while. Sometime's we have to lighten up. Thank you. Seems like building those little planes is rather good therapy.

  • nice job man!

  • LOL. Some people though do ask seriously, these questions.

  • Right answer! You win nothing! I was attempting to make a joke.

  • Cool bird Dave. You did a nice job with the assembly directions. Looks like a lot of work to me, but for someone who wants to follow along you spell it out nice & clear. 5 stars.

  • Thats a great Idea!
