**** From LEX VON SUMAYO'S ARRANGEMENTS ****
Paradise - I finally found time to try out Lex's wonderful arrangements and this is my first attempt. He's about 30 pieces into his 100 OPM hits arrangements so I'm 29 pieces behind him - no way to catch up. He is one of the few that I know that demonstrate how their arrangements should be played, so it really helps a lot in studying the pieces. I just added stuff here and there in the piece so this is not 100% off of his written notation.
Lex's website is - what else? - www.lexvonsumayo.com and he's here on YT as - you guessed it! - lexvonsumayo.

  • Sa totoo lang sa Lata/Sumayo Conservatory of Classical Guitar ako nag aaral! he he he. Si Sir Raffy at Sir Lex Von ang professors ko dahil kayo ang nagpropromote ng mga OPMs natin. The arrangements and tutorials you both post are very valuable and instructive. Keep up the outstanding work!

  • @lugudningginu

Lagi kaming nagco-complement (at compliment) ni Lex and I've always regarded him to be the better champion (than me) of our own music. Check out Joel Malit's channel and you'll find his exquisite renditions (really sounds like Pedro Concepcion). There are others like Mar Mendoza (who loves arranging guitar music), Ace Agcaoili and other conservatory folks you can also find here in YT - so there's really a village out there supporting our traditional music. Regards.

  • You did a great job Raffy! It means a lot to me!

    thanks a lot!

  • Thanks Lex....for sharing the music. You deserve to have your great work showcased to everyone.

  • This is the reason why I am very grateful to you for posting tutorials of Filipino OPMs and kundimans. You are willing to share and teach without expecting any monetary remuneration. God bless your wonderful soul!

  • @pasigenyo Thank you so much for introducing these wonderful guitarists. I immediately checked them out. They are all amazing guiatists.

With regards to the educational value of the renditions and willingness to teach and share arrangements, Joel Malit wrote, "na sa sobrang husay ay ipinagdamot sa madlang people ang kanilang tugtog at ipinagbili sa miserableng presyo ng ticket sa concert hall, at sa presyo ng libro na mas mahal pa kaysa Biblia."

  • lupit lupit lupit naman! i already have the 31 pieces sa email ko.
