@kelsmart Exactly! This was the true test between Science and Faith. Like you said, the island is both. Time-traveling, the Swan Station (AKA The "Hatch") with the electromagnetism was PURE science. But jacob and the man in black were both faith or like you said god and the devil of the island.
Like they always said, the island was what kept hell from unleashing to the world. Hell was the man in black. Jacob was god who kept the man in black ON the island by forcing him to never leave :)

People are being too harsh. It made perfect sense, you just had to use your mind. The last season was tricky and difficult to understand, I had to watch it twice. But I got it. Lost is the greatest show ever made. It requires you to think.

The fact that you made lost you "god damn life" for six years says that you where having wayyy to high expectations for the ending. And I'm sorry but if you thought the ending was going to be better than it actually was (And it was your life) then doesn't that mean you loved the series up until the final season. Even if the finale sucked (which I don't think it did) I still would have appreciated the fact that the ride up until that point was amazing.

Alot of people I talk to seem to have a problem with the religious understones in the story, but I'm a sucker for that stuff! I feel one of the major themes of Lost was always about coming to terms with both science and faith , and finding room for both. The time travel stuff was pure sci-fi, but Jacob and MIB were obviously representations of God and the Devil. When Jack drank the water that Jacob "blessed", he was becoming the "Jesus" of the island. I found it interesting.

I think that pretty much says it all. 95% of the people who didnt like the final season/episode is because they didnt understand it. What a shame. The show does make sense, but it really requires you to think alot about it, which is one of the reasons why it is so awesome!
