1998 at Robert's Western World in Nashville, Tennesse, John & Lois Shepherd, the Crown Jewels of Lower Broadway, have been keeping the tradition going for over three decades.
I first met these Country Music Icons at Millie & Al's in April 1981 when I began my Nashvile recording career. They graciously shared their stage with me and have continuously done so over the years, establishing a long friendship in the process. Whether at Tootsie's, The [old] Merchants, The Wagonburner, Music City Lounge, the Shepherds are one of the most popular and versatile acts in town. ... Mike Johnson, Roughshod Records

I've known John & Lois for about thirty years or so and they never fail to amaze me. Their music is still the greatest and has stood the test of time. Singers always come and go on Lower Broadway, but John & Lois still hang in there. They are true masters of their profession.
i saw this guy play in the middle of the day about 2 years ago and whew!! I was young and lookin for some guitar players to play some fast solos then all of a sudden I was stopped in my tracks just watching him play the acoiustic and singing the best songs.
Thanks. John is one of those rare down to earth musicians who isn't on a ego trip. I've known him since 1980 and he's shared his stage with me on many ocassions.
