almost all muslim countries have people from different faith and race in them.

for example: in Afghanistan we also hindu and sikh and they prefer fghanistan over india and they know its a muslim country their faith is respected and their rights guaranteed.they are proud of being Afghan and afghanistan is a muslim country.

btw what has democracy got to do with it?

do you want to say that muslims cant be democratic?

I am proud of Indonesia's achievement in democratization than it is being a Muslim majority country, because it is something that we as a people achieved, not something that was done hundreds of years ago.

But hey, I wish you luck in the future of your country and I hope both of our countries can work together more often.

When we are talking about the society of a country as a whole, we need to be careful about the words use to describe it. Secular is a more appropriate word than Muslim to describe the pluralist, democratic and diverse society of Indonesia.

My point was that it is incorrect to label Indonesia as just a "Muslim" country because it does not reflect the diversity and plurarist society. You don't need to be a Muslim country to have other connections with other Muslims around the world.
