Lots of healthy-minded folks turned up at Community Development Recreation Saturday to join the second annual Fall River Fitness Challenge, a three-month competition open to those who live or work in the city to lose a collective 2,000 pounds.
The program will offer low-cost exercise classes at CD REC, 72 Bank St.; The Diabetes Association, 170 Pleasant St.; and the YMCA, 199 N. Main St. Participants must weigh-in at one of the sites every two weeks and will be eligible for prizes.
Those who would like to join the Challenge may sign-up and weigh-in at one of the above locations through Jan. 31.
Last year, Challenge participants lost a total of 3,410 pounds.
