As a certified emergency vehicle mechanic, firefighter and emt. I've seen hundreds of cases of lights and sirens not working. Even if they don't work you still go directly to the hospital. And you have to see all of the video. Dashcam and all. The trooper's still an @ from what you see on this clip. But you have to see it all first. If the trooper needs an ambulance someday, I hope he gets the same crew. They should drive the speed limit and hit every bump and every curb for him.

I rarely comment, but this one compels me. This is just my opinion, and I am biased as I am an EMT, but it seems that the trooper had a legitimate gripe with the EMT in this video. However, his handling of the situation was an epic failure. I know that most EMS providers have seen this video, and I suspect it does not help relations between services. He put his hand at his throat for a minor infraction/courtesy... I can't see any justification for his actions!

Arrest the driver at the hospital, Not on route to the hospital. there is a patient in the fucking ambulance for fuck sake. how the fuck is this even legal. I though u could not pull an ambulance over while on route??? EMTs should carry tazers for just this reason. taze the cop put him in his car and continue to the Hospital. or beat the fucker unconscious, and move along

no, the emt did not receive these charges with the ohp and ambulance situation. he was arrest on jan 11 2010. he was pulled over in his own vehicle in vian, northeast oklahoma. the emt gave another officer trouble when he was pulled over again. so i have no sympothy for the emt, he oviously has issues with respect for authority. but thats just my opinion.

And how do you get in trouble for speeding while transporting someone to the hospital in an emergency vehicle?

Sounds to me like they were just lookin for reasons to justify the cops overreaction. If you don't think it was overreaction whatever, but its cops like this that give cops a bad reputation

VIAN, OK -- A paramedic involved in a scuffle including an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper in May of 2009 has been arrested in Sequoyah County.

Vian Assistant Police Chief Bryan Chandler said paramedic Maurice White was arrested Monday morning at about 9:15 for speeding, seatbelt violation, not having insurance, no drivers license, failure to obey a lawful order and resisting arrest.
