Michael Zweig, Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for the Study of Working Class Life at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, on the economic realities of the downturn.
He did a monologue last night that I caught that I want to favorite. It was about how, after the distribution of the Bailout money, the majority of it actually went to CEO's and corporate heads. He said and I quote, "For every dollar lost in the housing crash, these men put away 3 for themselves."
BLEW MY MIND. WE HAVE JUST BEEN ROBBED PEOPLE. I HAVE BEEN HUNGRY, ON THE STREET, WITHOUT OPTIONS. WHO BAILED ME OUT? I DID. AND I LEARNED FROM IT. WE NEED TO TEACH THE RICH SOME LESSONS.
Mike's got it right. Cool to see Moyers drawing attention to Zweig and his Center.
