I just found out that the wire must be held in the right position in the clamps or my readings were off about .1 amp @ a 2amp reading. Reading output on a charger. Unless a PWM is being used , it will not work with a car battery not even with the engine running. Just trying to add what I found out, lucky I could get my money back for the faulty meter.(faulty meter not pictured)

    I'm sorry your Craftsman amp meter varies so much when squeezed, mine does not, but you have put some doubt in my mind. I will have to have some way to check my accuracy.

  • I would try another of the same meter befor I claimed it did not work, some time you can get a faulty device. If we all post any weird things like this we will find what works best of everthing for hho.
