Dr. Lawrence DelRe gives simple, yet powerful techniques to teach how to give a safe spinal massage for neck and shoulder pain, and back pain in general, using methods which address "defense physiology". Defense Physiology is the spinal response to years of spinal guarding due to old injuries, imbalances, and compensations. We can "remove the past" from the spinal muscle memory, thus it is a type of "neuromuscular reprogramming". A person's spine stops guarding so much, and relaxes like normal. This also covers the lower back massage. in Part II. If you visit http://rejuvenationlight.com - you will see much information about LLLT. The website at http://laser-book.com shows more about low level laser therapy in general. At the popular blog called The DelRe Protocols - http://thedelreprotocols.com - visitors will find information of many subjects, although the main focus is on low level laser therapy.

  • Adults scoliosis can't be significantly changed, however, this spinal massage is a very good, safe answer for those with scoliosis. It is my number one method for handling scoliosis cases. Perhaps you can have a massage therapist watch this video and then work on you.

  • very interested video thank you for your time, if I may ask ...do you think the pain in the shoulder blade, can be from the imbalanced Atlas only

    thank you

  • @PASCALP25 Not really. The spine is a complex, a network. No bone is an island.

  • Very interesting video..well designed...a question I have is what are the implications for tight spinal muscles..ie..increased stress..increased blood pressure..other issues.

How could lose or re education of these spinal muscle groups help in terms of health or mental status?

would like to see or learn more about these issues...Troytex in Texas...an ol'e goat in Texas trying to learn something new...aug 20, 2010

  • @Troytexas....Not sure how to reply here but I'll try... re education of the spinal muscles happens from doing the massage repeatedly. Basically, what we are doing is removing the past, the "muscle memory". The muscles become "trapped in the past", so to speak. They are guarding against old injuries, usually of childhood. Or, they are guarding in order to compensate for imbalances caused by old injuries elsewhere in the spine. Removing the constant hidden stress releases the body to be at peace.
