Wood Workshop - Monte Azul

This video is about a jam session in 2004 between four Dutch students from the Design Academy Eindhoven - Maarten Kolk, Wendy de Pina, Lonny van Rijswijck and Nadine Sterk- and woodworkers of Associação Comunitária Monte Azul in São Paulo. Together with the cabinet makers they developed wooden colloured toys and objects with the concept of recycling. The young cabinet makers that already had participated in a similar project in 2001, Design Solidário had the opportunity to improve their knowledge, techniques and exchange ideas with the four design students. This project stimulated the production of design objects as the association used to make mostly toys by Waldorf education orientated. See the products at www.straat.com.br
