yeah Takedown was a disappointment for Man, didn't get the right actors or budget to do the film the way he wanted to do it, had to wait 6 years till he did Heat, and boy was that wait worth it.

Great acting lesson here: NEVER just play the stakes. NEVER just play the lines. Know exactly who you are and justify every single word you say. For fucks sake, don't ACT. That's for assholes. Earn the right to BE.

@POOLBOYROCKSTAR Well when Mann Started he really was just an independent director making documentaries, then after that he was a screenwriter and producer for telivion, he wasn't able to make a movie that could air in theaters until Thief in 1981, He had to not only draw attention to his script by making a Tv movie of it but he had to increase his standing as a film Director as well which he did in the interval.

@Godzilla52 you do know that it took Micheal Mann 20 years to make Heat, by making the Tv Movie was A way of drawing attention to turn a Script That no wanted to make into a hollywood crime drama with a amazing actor's and a big budget.
