What editor did you use to get the explosion effects?

@TheIndianaJonesGuy It wasn't actually anything special, I just edited in each explosion stage to the frames using Photoshop, but I'm 99% sure you could even use MS Paint. The explosion itself was a series of metal slug sprites, you can find a ton of them off Google Images.
