Seuss was rescued from the mean streets of L.A. We found her shivering in the cold November rain. She looked as if she'd been used as either a bait dog a breeding dog or both. She looked as if she had obviously recently had puppies and that she's "served her purpose" been thrown out in the street like a piece of trash. Her front teeth were worn down to tiny rice sized nubs. They were either kicked out or worn down from biting on the cage she was probably kept in. Her bottom incisors had been filed down and she walked with a limp.

She was very timid and sweet and melted right into my arms knowing love for the first time in her life. She was extremely animal aggressive perhaps because she had been a bait dog but over time she learned to love other animals and today gets along with everyone. She went from an "ugly ducking" to a beautiful swan. Whenever I took her for a walk someone inevitably stopped me to say "what a beautiful dog!" Seuss loves to model and have her picture taken and she's been my muse and inspiration and my little "top model". She was a flower girl along with her sister Puppet in our wedding.

In January of this year, I took her to the Sam Simon surgery van for what I thought was an abscessed tooth, it turned out that it was osteosarcoma, (bone cancer) in her jaw. Through the heroic efforts of the rescue community and some human angels, Seuss was able to have surgery to remove a part of her jaw. She did amazingly well with the surgery and made a quick recovery.

Then in March, she was suddenly struck down with bloat, She almost died but she was once again blessed to be helped by some human angels and had emergency surgery to save her life. We were starting to think this dog was a cat. Again, this amazing little survivor came through with flying colors. She was doing great and we were savoring our time together until about a month ago. This video picks up from there.

We made this video when we thought this was going to be just another bump in the road but now we've learned it's the end of the road:(

Her sisters Puppet and Charro are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to welcome her.

We did this video when we thought that her paralysis was fixable. We were ready to fight and win but it's not to be.

  • I am saddened by watching this as I wish I had seen it before when U needed donations for this sweetie as I would love to have donated. What a beautiful courageous girl she was and U were so kind to her and were willing to do what many would not have. God bless her and U too and her wonderful spirit will always be with U. She is not gone she is just resting now. Thanks for all U did for her.

  • I am so grateful that Seuss had your love and care for the last months of her life! She was finally able to be the happy, friendly dog she was meant to be from birth, but was denied by abuse.

Thanks for seeing her true spirit and giving her time to finally live it.
