Very beautiful and magnificent Canadian army salute and music at the first night of EX summer 2009. The highlight of the event was a great performance of 1812 by Tchaikovsky with live ammunition from the big guns which happens very rarely but thanks to the orchestra of the army I was fortunate enough to see this once in a lifetime performance.
@wishiwas1901 Because the English people across the world lost their balls. I'm a French-Canadian and I think that English Canada is a bunch of pussies. They used to be such a great empire, taking over many overseas lands. Now they let themselves get conquered by a bunch of arabs in their own country. I'm not saying the French are any better, we're pussies now too. Nations of European descent should rise up and grow some balls.

@wishiwas1901 because they are sore losers, and you are just trying to sew strife, so id much rather fight with a quebecois than your sorry ass.

French Canadians have a proud history. Almost as impressive as the British architects of the western world, royal canadian regiments proudly wear tartan, salute their Queen and defy any that would threaten canadian borders.

As an Englishman I am so confused! I have a Candaian flag on my wall that deeply otfended a visiting Frenchman, with a shield and a union Jack in the corner. I spent most of my time apologising the Pierre. You seem to have done everything you could to have made Canada part of France; removed the Union Flag, got rid of God Save the Queen, disbanded the 'Scottish' regiments, etc etc, but the French Quebecians still seem to hate you - why is that?

Canada has always and will continue to display our selves as Canadians like we always have and this is part of it just like french culture in Canada is still displayed even French military traditions amongst french Canadian Regiments. the bear skin hats are something the British and Canadians wear as along time ago they were produced from the hudson bay company trappers in Canada very much both British and Canadian. we do distinguish our selves different & simaller

I dont disagree that Canada is its own country and that America went its own way along time ago, however a long time ago we held these traditions and did through two world wars there is very rich history there and to simply do away with it all would be tragic. and like stated earlier many of these traditions originated in the Canadian Army at thye same time as the British and they are just as much ours there are comunities on the east coast that still speak gailec.

@PioneerRifleman The Americans speak English too. They are hardly British, and do not desire to be. We are just as much an independant nation as they are. The Americans were founded by the British just as we were, yet they have created a unique identity for both their nation and their armed forces by looking to themselves, rather than to an island on the other side of an ocean. Yet they retain very strong ties to Canada, Australia, NZ, UK, SA, etc.

I am a canadian soldier and this is very much a part of our heritage as much as it is British. many of those regiments were formed at a time when Canada was still British and so i dont see how they are more british than Canadian, there is a strong brotherhood between Canada,Australia,New Zealand,South Afric and yes Great Britain. after all we for the most part speak english as our primary language

Some regiments now have a drill team performance with their bands. The best one I've seen to date is HMKG from Norway...those young lads are awesome with thier precision drill! GGFG aren't too bad, it's the first time I've seen this tattoo.
