This video tutorial focuses on how to use the AEC Extended objects in AutoDesk 3D Studio Max. The AEC Extended objects are architectural features that allow you to create walls, doors, windows, railings, and stairs with ease. The program works with the specialized objects and allows for dynamic updates with the objects. Materials will be covered in the next video, AEC Extended objects and Materials. If you have any questions about using AEC Extended objects or any other standard plugin, please comment on the video or on my channel.

Please comment, rate, and subscribe to my videos. The more I hear from you, the more I can make videos that you need/want.

  • thanks' bro.

  • @vmsoni No problem

  • can u plz help...when i place my door thru d wall ..it doesnt create a gap or a hole inside d door...pz help....tnx..

  • @charcoal777 You have to set the walls and the doors the same size, if they are different this does not work. Its tricky and MAX doesn't forgive any errors unfortunately.

  • dude ur info kicks arse ,u got any tutorial links for interior design??

    thanks

  • @graphomet I do not, but I am working in Revit more than usual now. I can post some Revit tutorials, but its not going to be interior design related, not my discipline.

  • awesome tutorial.thanks a lot

  • @Videshi2001 if u didn't convert wall in "Editable Poly\Patch\Mesh" and 3ds Max is not creating opening for door\window automaticaly, try "Select and link" window\door to the wall (the button "Select and link" in this video is right next after "Redo" button)

    Sorry for my English.

  • Legend! Been waiting for so long for someone to post a good tutorial on how to do windows and doors in 3DS Max :D

  • @jonjd46 I have the same issue and my depth/height values are the same. Just for a test I set them all to 1 meter... I can create all the windows/doors I like, but it won't cut them.

  • holy crap you did that way easier than i did!

  • Oke.. here is the thing.. i spent 3 hours trying to know why its not making a gap in the wall when i do doors windows etc. The wrong that i did was i converted the wall to editable poly that way what ever u do it wont make a gap so DONT convert the wall to editable poly. hope this helps and wont waste some one 3 hours

  • great tutorial to recover my EAC Extended basics ;)

actualy i've learned this at school but... i forgot it since years..
