Trigeminal Neuralgia

I just had the surgery one week ago today, after having had major bouts of TN for ten years. I do not think there could not possibly be a placebo effect, since you have absolutely no idea when the attacks will occur. You might be brushing your teeth - or not. You might touch the side of your face 20 times, and on the 21st electric shocks rips through your face, you scream and fall to the floor. I think in order for a placebo effect, you would need to be able to anticipate the pain.

I correctly diagnosed trigeminal neuralgia when I was doing my house job,

Wow. My mom went through months of doctors etc. She was recently told she has Trigeminal neuralgia after quite a while.
1 out of 15k people have it. Sucks.

there needs to be a change in the way the medical field approach to finding a diagnosis. theres a lot of idiot doctors, and few good ones.

My friends mother has this. After reading up on the disorder, I've come to the understanding that she is a far braver person than I am for being able to keep a strait face through something like this.
Recently, she begun using medical pot.
I live in Vancouver Canada, where the Dr. prescribed use of Medical pot is both legal, and acceptable. Ever since she started using cannabis in this way, her pain is greatly alleviated, and she has a higher quality of life than she would have otherwise.

@timmonster THIS STORY IS MY STORY 100% !!! I come home today after MVD surgery and 3 days in hospital, and I am already pain free, and HAPPY !
My life was nightmare for past 12 years , I tryed everything , every drug...worked fine in the begining .
Don't be afraid of MVD ; IT IS A MAYOR SURGERY, but the only who will deliver pain free life with intact nerve.
Are there ANY double-blind studies of this surgical procedure, "MVD", to rule out any "placebo effec" that could occur when the patient goes under deep anesthesia and the skull is opened? The only reason that the FDA allows these surgeries is that they don't kill anyone, but do they actually "cure" anyone?
