The Ocean MIDI Editor, also called "MEDIT", playing TFX - Maritime (Ingame 3 to Kohina listeners). The software runs in DOS and supports a variety of sound cards that Ocean used for their games.

  • Cool, well he let me have the program. Only thing is, idk how to use it really. I know how to enter notes but no sound comes out. Can you help? Thanks.

  • What do you plan to do with it first?

  • Maybe for writing my own music or making MIDI versions of NES game music.

  • Well for composing your own music, you need either a Sound Blaster, Roland LAPC-I or external version or a Roland SCC-1/Sound Canvas 55 as these are the only cards/modules it supports, otherwise you'll be stuck with Sound Blaster emulation in DOSBox.

  • Where can I get this program?

  • @Doommaster1994 It was never released to the public as it was Ocean's in-house editor.

  • Look at charles deenen (TMC) and you will see that he uses the same program.. ODD that.. lol.

Baz was an electrosound freak and got a load of ideas from the mighty blog as well as his running up a £300 odd fone bill talking to rob and martin as well at stoat and tim.

Baz.. What happened to Gryphon (Alan) and John And Robert ??

  • Barry used a program he got from robert and myself which was emulated from Rob hubbards music editor. Didn't u baz ? lol

  • omg, I want to write music like this! If only I had the right software...

  • Yeah, I use DOSBox for it. I have a '98 machine that it would work on but I'm just too lazy to pull it out. I don't mind what sound quality I get, as long as I get sound out of it, that's all I care for :)

  • Sorry I spoke too soon. I saw your comment about him sending it to you. I'll have to ask him for it. I know how to contact him. Hopefully he still has the program. Also I posted a video reply of one of his original works in AdLib.
