Denmark is putting the final touches on its preparations for the UN climate summit in Copenhagen in December, mounting a huge police deployment for the biggest event ever organised in the country. Duration: 01:49
But that just couldn't happen. You admit most of the available land has been used for something else...land for raising meat is different and cannot be used for farming easily. Results...massive global starvation which has never occurred before.
almost all of the land available for farming has already been used, which is why there is no much inflation when there is a drought or flood. corn, which is the main feedstock for cows is heavily subsidized in America, which has the effect of subsidizing meat. if this was taken away meat would be 2 or 3 times more expensive, forcing people to respond by switching from meat to more veges consumption. 25x more vege could be grown than reduction in meat, hence pushing down prices for veges.
No, no, no. You aren't understanding. Switching to a corn sub, for instance, will cause global famine, due to the rising cost of corn. Congrats on being a veggie, but this won't touch the price of meat. (if anything, meat consumption will rise due to rising costs of veggies) Things like rice, barley, oats will suffer the most. So, my point...organic is what it will be affected, not meat which will rise anyways due to more cities and less areas for farming meat.
no one cares, get over it. we all want to end the fed, bring back states rights, break apart corporations but unfortunately climate change is one issue that will always divide us.
exactly costs need to rise, so that people switch to organic, and less or no meat, meat uses 25x the resources of an equivalent weight of veges, if everyone went vegetarian, food prices would collapse overnight, and there would be no need for food stamps or foreign aid.
I can't believe they are framing this conference as a way to add more years to our lives! How many people in this world will starve to death after this "legally binding agreement" is passed? The costs of many things will rise drastically due to this including growing food, distributing food, and buying food. Certainly the third world countries will suffer the most, but so will all first and second world countries.
