@queensryche619 christ good point...by far the best song on that LP!
-
Anyone else think this was the best song on 'Enemy'? Not after the first listen maybe, but it has more replay value than basically anything else on that disc.
-
@Nothiean, yeah, it's not part of the lyrics but ok.
let's hope he's happy at the cuban communist youth and sometimes can pour his heart out to fidel castro about the tragedic events that happened to him and his family.
-
@lejazzetmoi Actually, he joined the Cuban Communist Youth and is good friends with Fidel. :D
-
@Nothiean, well this is a repetition of moves.
the reality is that elian gonzalez is part of a broken family which is a very sad thing. i wonder if he ever got the love that a child deserves. according to the lyrics he didn't.
-
@lejazzetmoi No, sir. This IS a pro-Cuba song. They're openly pro Cuba.
-
guess you're right when saying the 'devil's pl.gr.' phrase isn't irony, because from cuba's view it is.
did you see this dvd? unfort. can't upload b/c dvd is encrypted. james said that initially he didn't want to play baby elian, so to me it's clear it's not a pro cuba song. also the encounter w/ f.castro seemed quite uncomfortable.
imo this song is about the sadness of 2 people/nations fighting a war on the expense of children. you don't just sit in a rocking chair when you built a revolution.

@lejazzetmoi America is the devil's playground because it is the place of the most powerful capitalist class, the capitalists that control the worlds' economy and ruin it. I live in Detroit, i've seen what the banks have done to my city. They're waging a all out war to the death with the workers, and they have the heavy firepower. Also, they murder people all around the world to ensure they have increased profits and control. The USA is scary.
-
they'll have duties in cuba i suppose ;-)
why do you think america is the devils playground? are you disappointed in the american government?
-
@lejazzetmoi Cuba, however, I have a duty here. I will visit though. :D
