But... by creating this cover, didn't they translate the song into a different genre? It's like if someone created a ska cover of a metal song, it's no longer metal, but ska.

Excellent point. I came on hear expecting to see conservatory graduates squelching everyone's joy by trolling about how this is "Real Classic Genre Western Art Music" because it wasn't composed by someone who studied under Milton Babbit (may he r.i.p.). The genre's have their own characteristics but that should NOT make hybridizing taboo. Instead it is appealing to an audience who enjoys both.

It is not "above" the original by anything. The composition is identical. You just prefer classical music over electronic music. This does not make it better, it simply makes it your preference.

this piece isn't dubstep despite origin. I don't agree with Czlukas of ignorant people. I don't listen dubstep but maybe is good. Discrimination based in music tasted it is not good. But i can say that this is not dubstep but classical music. And somethings tell me that the original is dubstep and not classical music...

    greetings! :)

this is classical music because the medium, the instruments and the forms and rules. doesn't matter the original because the original was put by the same rules although with different medium. So this is like a return to the rules that guides this kind of music since bach. (Or if you want since babilonians), the distances between the notes, the scale and harmony makes this classical music.

I am not sure if you differ for mine point of view. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

This is classic music and is above the original by far.
