It's been a while since I did a Mercs video, so I decided just to play from whatever random save file I chose, hoping it was the one that was furthest ahead in the game so I could get to the final mission quickly.

The objective of this mission is quite simple: Hold the line at NAV Alpha. Completing this objective is another story. They send light 'Mechs out to soften me up at first; trying to make me use up my ammo and damage my armour a little bit so the heavy & assault 'Mechs can finish me off.

Due to high demand, and my own desire to post a video with little, if any, use of the image enhancement feature, since the game looks so much better without it enabled, this video will try to do just that. I only use image enhancement a couple times for tactical purposes. I hope you all enjoy this one!

  • Fuck this game was cool. I'd buy it without hesitation if they reissued it.

  • In spite of the now dated graphics, the gameplay feels more organic than the sequels.

Mechwarrior 4 should have ported this engine for modern hardware.

  • @InfraredCentipede

just fit some ER PPC on your mech and punch them from 1,2 km range ;)

that's where they are shutted down and powering up when they are coming your way.

i destroyed the first 2 mechs on that crater, and the other 3 while they were about 900 m away

4 ER PPC and the are dead before they know it ;D

  • @cwhetsell

    why can't you?

i just ran it in dosbox or under windows xp and it works fine.

  • "Holde the line at nav alpha" I loved this order.... great mission!

  • Just be glad that repairing always works if you have enough money and spare equipment. In the tabletop game, it's not always successful for a host of factors.

I also don't like how in my version, YELLOW equipment means it must be replaced, while RED equipment means it can be repaired. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

  • Such a sweet game, I wish I could still play it.

  • I remember always failing this mission because I would take the fight to the enemy rather than wait for them to come to me.
