When I recently posted this piece from the Palmer Hughes Level 3 Recital Book, I received several private messages saying that I played it at too slow a tempo and lacking in life. Apparently this polka should be played not only faster, but also in more lively style. As one person put it, "It should be played with a skip and a jump."
I was inspired by what people told me about this polka. So, today I post another arrangement, this one a bit more challenging than the previous. The tempo is slightly faster. I'm playing as fast as I can without the accuracy and smoothness suffering, as you can tell from a couple minor imperfections. And, to make it sound more lively, I am joined by my darling wife of 30 years who provides an auto accompaniment line from her keyboard. As is my practice in this channel, I play exactly as written in the songbook, but with a skip and a jump in mind.
I hope you find it helpful for your own progress on the accordion.
