I made this short film during my first year at film school. I had to adapt and direct a scene from a book so I chose this scene from Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Enjoy!

  • @TheShinobidog what?

  • girl...

  • @MrDanbloom I'm pretty sure Norwegian Wood is his best selling book, so I dunno how you can say they kept it out of the limelight. To me Norwegian Wood is his weakest book that I've read. The first half of the book with the character Storm trooper, was much more interesting then the second half. The book was alright but wasn't memorable to me. The Wind up bird chronicles is my favourite, I was blown away. I'm currently reading 1q84 and I'm loving it so far, maybe his best.

  • @MrDanbloom Norwegian wood is a "Realistic Murakami" Nothing to do with the Murakami os Wind-up bird Chronicles or Sputnik, Kafka at the Shore and most of his work... He is a very metaforic writer that love to mix diferent worlds in our world and outside it... T.B only have his beautiful narrative and a story that any teenager should read...

  • @fusilism you have a good point, and I agree, all his books are very well written. but IMHO the only book worth reading and that will stand the test of time, 100 years from now, is NORWEI NO MORI.......but yes, the man is a master! i agree. i like Haruki! I met him once in Tokyo too. I called him once on the phone from Alaska to Princeton where he was teaching. He was always friendly and warm. GOOD MAN!

  • @MrDanbloom i read 5 of his books including that. what about sputnik sweetheart? novelists, at one point get the recognition fame and all but do they stop creating novels? i think not, give his books some credit they're all well written

  • Huh? I just read this book and the video makes no sense.

  • the only book worth reading by Murakami is NORWEGIAN WOOD. Read that book and you will understand why. End of a story. Case closed. But do read it before you flame me. His entire "career" after that book was staged managed by marketing execs in cahoots with bottom line spread sheets. And they purposefully kept Norwegian Wood out of the limelight and the market in the USA in order to create the "persona" to sell these other books. Read NW and you will understand that all the rest is mere hype.

  • that girl is gorgeous! omg!

  • <3 this!
