hmmm... a trilogy eh?... Put it that way, this might work, sort of like Lord of The Rings? That would make more sense, the thing about alt. reality is that they work much better as a plot device if the other reality is in the same timeframe, and not some distant future. But yes I also do hope that they will return everything back to canon so that trek can go forward again. However, assuming nothing changes and this timeline is allowed to go on, canon star trek ends at nemesis for me.

exactly, that's what I've been trying to say! Abrams changed the future so that TNG ds9 and voyager doesn't exist anymore! I mean don't you find that even remotely disturbing?? I know this story is about rebirth, but at the cost of 6 billion deaths and a changed history?! That's not exactly 'optimistic' is it? This film looks like the star trek version of the cultural revolution, erasing the past to create a new future, ala JJ Abrams style.

@pacsouljah00 the universe where voyager and tng is set still continues life goes on there minus nero and spock who turned up in this alternate reality thanks to nerostemprel incursion in a way the events leading to romulus being destroyed and the attepts by spock to save it from the super nova created this new alternate reality in short we now have three universes prime miror prime and alternate

@hdaen01 J.J. wasn't the ONLY guy writing the new trek. They had a serious Trek nerd but they didnt all feel the need to protect EVERY little detail in the Trek canon.
