  • @xxsilen9xx XP Pro should have the feature built in, or you can use an aftermarket program.

  • @xxsilen9xx I don't think XP gives you the option to create a system image, and the only version that has a backup utility is Professional. There are plenty of alternative free backup programs available that create an image similar to how Windows 7 does.

  • would a system repair disk solve the message windows cannot be configured to run on this computer's hardware message

  • @CubeComputerChannel it worked i got my desktop running again nat at out of the box settings but hey it works

  • @MrBallerh Yeah, you have to have a Windows installation to create the restore media, but Windows does not have to be installed on the computer when restoring an image.
