NDP 2010 Fireworks - The Padang / Sengkang

The Singapore National Day Parade (NDP) is a national ceremony in Singapore that, as its name implies, includes a parade on Singapore's National Day on August 9, in commemoration of Singapore's independence that is usually held at the National Stadium or the Padang. More recently it has been held at The Float at Marina Bay.

This year, the NDP is held at the Padang. NDP 2010 is certainly more grand than previous years as 'Mini-NDPs' were held at five heartland areas. The five spots are: the open fields near Bishan Street 13 (Central), Woodlands Civic Centre (North-west), Eunos MRT station (South-east), Sengkang Square (North-east), and the hard court opposite Lot 1 Shoppers' Mall (South-west).

The mobile column of battle tanks and infantry vehicles travelled to the five locations after its ceremonial drivepast at City Hall and each of these locations will have their own fireworks displays. Heartland celebrations were last held in 2005 in Jurong East, Tampines and Yishun, and drew more than 50,000 people.

Well, I happen to live in the North-east area and my living has a rather decent view out towards the city and my room faces Sengkang, hence I've managed to capture some HD video footage of the fireworks during the NDP 2010. Songs were all taken from the NDP website and all rights are reserved to them.

Very good job.. btw I didnt know there are bldgs where you have City view like this.. You can see all the tall bldgs in CBD from Sengkang?? surprising.. which area this is and which floor?

@yhuang309 Haha, I wasn't being anxious. I was just free, and it wasn't too much trouble setting up the tripod and the small camcorder. Wanted to test and see how ideal the view is from the living room and my room.
