I've had a request to give my opinion on whether or not "they" should become a Massage Therapist. This is just a quick response covering some of the basic "knee jerk" reactions to this request.

If you don't care, don't watch!

  • I'm not worried about being RICH, but do you at least make good or decent money? I want to be able to live comfortably, but I don't care about being wealthy

  • @thtktgrl Umm... I survive. I also have a Janitor gig on the side that makes up the difference. But for a direct answer, when I was younger and had younger joints I probably made about $25,000 a year. I just cant do that many any more so I'm down to about $15,000 a year (just for massage).

  • you're hot

  • Thank you!

  • It's good to hear that you're back in school. What are majoring in?

  • I'm still changing my mind every semester. I was going for my Engineering degree, but I don't want to be stuck in a cubical all day not talking to anyone. I still have a while till I finish my under grad stuff. I have a little time to figure it out.

  • it helped a lot!!! thank you for your "bluntness" :) was wonderful advice and food for thought!

  • that is crazy how u said u dont really even need a license but if i want to work in a hotel or what ever they wont hire me unless i have a license ... so i guess if your working for yourself you may not need a lisence... but that would be illegal ..

  • Hand job? I think it's disgraceful for anyone to expect that from a therapist. Disgraceful. There is nothing sexual whatsoever about getting a theraputic massage... nothing! I have only had one professional massage and it was awesome. You don't know how badly you need one until after you've had it. When I can spare the money for another massage AND a good tip, I will certainly do it again! There is nothing like the human touch. No it doesn't cure cancer, but it works wonders for the soul.

  • I'm attending a massage school right now and have been debating lately if I'm really cut out for this. Your video helped clear my head a bit. I do like massage therapy, but I really want to use it as a stepping stone for something else. Thanks for the advice.

  • Massage therapy is a calling. It is what I love, though I went into it knowing I wouldn't make a lot of money. It's a nice part-time job. I do a lot of reflexology, it works wonderfully and is not as hard on the body. The woos who think they can cure cancer...they give us a bad name. It will never replace my administrative job as an RN (though I wish it could). I
