  • Thanks for all the great comments folks.

  • Hey PJ - This is a great rendition. Holds its own against the Desires version. Might even be better!

  • Hello there - long time no speak. It certainly does hold it's own against the Desires version - the Falsetto on this is pretty nice too (could be a bit more prominent though)

  • The Desires version is a bit more blues-y... But this version is a good one too.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Better than The Desires' original!

  • Thanks for the reply.

  • Wow!!!!! Great version!!!!!!

  • thanks for that walk down memory lane. much appreciated

  • @MrRJDB1969 Sorry, but postings here are for people to leave their honest comments. I clearly stated it's a decent version but not as good as the original. That's my opinion, I'm entitled to it and I'm sticking with it as it happens to be true. Sure lots of songs are copied and the majority of them sadly don't hold up to the original and this is one of them. It's not a bad rendition. I could have said that but didn't so grow up.. Your opinion is no more valuable than anyone elses.

  • @cobrawing9 : Even the Big Band's & Dance Band's of the 1930's & 1940's recorded songs several times over. If a particular song was good, they re-arranged it and recorded it in their own way.. putting their own twist on it, so it's not a new idea or concept . As a musician, I don't understand the complaint, since music is to be enjoyed by all who hear it or perform it . It's actually a compliment to the composer of the song that's being recorded and performed many times over.

  • Great version of this classic. The background harmonies and the falsetto gives this version a slight edge over the others. To each his own, but the group here handles the harmonies better. The lead is about as good as any other lead.

  • Will: I remember Don K Reed playing this song often on Saturday or Sunday nights. As a former NJ girl, I miss these songs. Here in KS, they don't have an oldies song.

  • It's a decent version but clearly not as good as the original Schoolboys version so many of us remember. The late great "Ronnie I" and I had a conversation back in 19'77 about comparing original versions to other versions. I think he said it best when he agreed with me by saying "Why would anyone want another copy of the Mona Lisa when you've got the original to enjoy!". Subsequent versions of songs can be good (even great) but NOTHING can ever replace or compare with the original.

  • this yet another unheard classic till now sounds alot like please say you want me by the schoolboys

  • @skyliner1949 Indeed it dose
