The Rough Rider RRCS4 knife kit. Purchased for a mere 8 British pounds!!!
This is just a quick (reduced from 5 hours of work) video showing how I made the kit up and then finished it into a very nice little lock knife.

Great video, I'm on the Heinnie Haynes website, I was about to order the Rough Rider RRCS1, just thought I should check any video's of any of the Rough Rider knives being assembled. Again great video settled any qualms I had before purchase.thank you!

@zitchan Great! That's exactly why I made it.

I spent hours searching through youtube videos of master knife makers from Sheffield etc just to get to grips with technique since the instructions were a bit poor (IMO)

Still got the RRCS1 kit on the shelf.... Other things have taken over!

Very interesting and informative, What type of sander are you using at the end of the video? Looks like some type of minature sander. Looks effective for blending the curves. I'd like to buy one of those!!

@hamie96 The sander used at the end is an electric precision 1/2" belt sander/filer. I grip it in my 4" bench vice, jaws in the handle recess and lock the trigger on to use it...... Probably not the most advised of moves but it's firm and as safe as using my bench grinder/linisher etc. I'll mail you a link to the kind of thing....

@Dividedhead I don't see the information about the 1/2" belt sander you used. It looks like something I would like to add to my shop. I was also interested in the tool bit you used for tapering the holes for the rivets, can you give us some info on that too.

@dlmarti Apologies for the very late reply... I am not planning to do a walk around anytime soon since it's a right mess at the mo'!

I May do one in the future but it'll certainly be in the new year, I've got a huge amount of work on that is taking all of my spare time up.

Answer - No. If you look at the still pic' 3:02 you can see next to the un-flatted liner the pins have barely changed shape.

Having tapered all the holes where the pins will be peined . The pins are in a wedge shape,kind of like this \ / so it's very unlikely you could get them loose with the flatting.

You're only taking off a thou or two.... Still takes ages with steel liners though!! you arm and fingers ache a bit!
