This is a test I conducted in After Effects, trying to emulate the warp speed effect.

  • longest stars i've ever seen

  • Warp speed??

  • Nicely done. However, I would like to point out that in the Star Trek universe the warp nacelles do not work like exaust pipes. They 'warp' space so that the space ship can 'surf' forward.

  • Really they don't work like EXAUST pipes. Wow, I never knew that!

  • It was okay. If you'd had a warp speed sound instead of a red alert-type sound, it would've been more awesome.

  • Excellent simulation. Red alert warning annoying. But would you really see stars if in warp?

  • DAMN...WE BLEW A HOLE IN THE SHIP AT WARP 20 EVAC NOW!!!

  • @RandomNinjaOfEvil Why not? The light would be weird, on account of the space around you being warped, but it wouldn't go anywhere.

  • not bad

  • everything in view would leave a trail that would not go away until you dropped out of warp.

  • i wouldn't use stars like they did in the tv series, i would have used a warp tunnel of like motion textures and star particles flying by really fast, like in the movie that recently came out.

  • rofl

  • very nice did you use cc particle world plugin?

  • Ignore the low ratings. The sequence is excellent, test or no test.

  • nice man how did u do that?
