The West band was very touchable. Those years you named they were good, not great. Hell, I remember back in '04 or '05, the year Plantation played you all in the playoffs and their band blew you all away playing the Africa fanfare. And The West played SWAC songs because that was where your BD was from. Doesn't mean no one else had the range and chops lol

Mr Umana is the associate band director. He only handles the marching band and teaches the incoming freshmen and sophmores exclusively on basic fundamentals. Mr Mcminn is the Director of bands. Mr. Mcminn was Mr U's associate director when Mr U was at the west. Anyway ppl lk at it we have a great band staff bc they were the ones who made sure the west was what it was under Mr U and under Mr Dorsey. Our jazz and symphonic bands are off the chain with them two teaching.
