cigar reviews review http://www.cigarobsession.com Gurkha Master Select Robusto #4

This 6×52 stick offered a mild experience with little smoke and commanding frequent puffs for proper performance. It had a couple minor burn issues needing touch-up, but was ok other than that. Draw was on the firm side and flavors were very simple and consistent. On the draw you get a grassy hay followed by tobacco flavors ending in a short clean finish. The last 3rd saw a bit of a nutty flavor that I attribute to the heat buildup from the frequent puffs. It lasted 1 hour to the band point. Thank you very much to Tinderbox.com for sending the stick for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

  • What do you do when you "touch up" a cigar?

  • Had the connecticut shade tonight....perfect burn, draw and construction. Great flavors of sweet pepper with no strength, definitely not mild. Mine was in the humidor for almost a year so maybe that made a difference.

  • A friend and I smoked 2 of these tonight and found it to be an amazing cigar and are going to order some more. I'm not questioning your review, since you have to call 'em as u see 'em. But, my friend and I loved this cigar. Thus, either u got a bad one or we got 2 really good ones.

  • Excellent review. I have a Gurkha Master Select on the way (part of a sampler).

I too agree that Gurkhas are hit and miss. Of the Gurkhas I've smoked, the Micro Batches--i.e., TPB-1, C-10, S-2, and VH-7--have been the best, imo.

  • Thanks for the review, I was just about to buy a bunch of these, so you just saved me $70. I've had the same luck with Gurkha. Very hit and miss.

  • butane is tasteless so go with the lighter in my opinion
