  • Hi Bob I was there too on Monday when the Adelaide visited Terrigal. What a great sight she was sitting there. Ive dived wrecks in Truk, PNG, Solomons, Vanauta and I'm really looking forward to diving on the Adelaide when she finally comes to rest at Terrigal. Seeing her the other day in a fully operational state will long remain in my memory when IO dive her. she is a beautiful ship. Thanks for the video.

  • I was there on Avoca's foreshore-has anyone seen my video of it??

  • @lolreallylongusernam I know, Did you see it today? I did :D

  • "Soon to become an artificial reef" - Jan, 2008. It is now Apr, 2011 and it is only just happening.

  • Apparently upgrade work is still ongoing with the remainder of vessels in this class.

To my limited knowledge- the Canberra and Adelaide were not deemed worthwhile of refit and subsequently scrapped.

  • I thought Australian navy OHP fleet were recently upgraded which gave them another 10-15 years of life?

  • Spent a couple of years on Adelaide and was still on there in this video. Great crew on there and i look back now knowing it was a great ship.

  • I remember my time on her fondly. (89-91). Great mates and good times. Was a RP/CSO. R.I.P. Adelaide.

  • I paid her off in January as part of the decom crew. We used to call her No Fun 01 but really she was a great ship and my home. There is no way I could watch her sink but in a few years I might come for a visit and go for a dive.

  • know the feeling mate. i paid her off

  • Gonna be sad to see her go, I served on the Adelaide in '91-'92. Lotta great memories and alot of great mates.
