We lived in one of the larger "towns" in Ontario (pop 40,000) and when driving to the grocery store, we passed this elderly couple out for their early evening stroll 2 or 3 times. When they saw us they'd wave and I told my son to wave back, as I would do. He asked if we knew them and I said no, but if we didn't wave they'd think the people they thought we were were rude and they'd be hurt, so what was the harm in waving back? LOL
