This is a short video of me stripping my fixed gear bike down for shipping. It has S&S couplings installed that allow me to split the steel frame in two pieces. These, and all the bits, fit snugly into an airline approved luggage box. They can't charge me extra for it. The video details, albeit in fast-motion, every step from complete ridable bike to rolling the box away. The S&S Couplings were retro-fit by Steve Bilenky of Bilenky Cycleworks in Pennsylania. The Fausto Coppi racing frame I got from the boys at Gorrilla Bikes in Zurich through Thomas's Ebay site. It's a sweet thing that bike, and it goes where I go.

  • that was thoroughly impressive!

  • Bikes are Cool. Bikes are art. Art is Bollocks. Ergo, what is cool is also bollocks. I've taken one of these jawns on a plane several times, and you know what? It's got regular sized wheels, and that DOES make a difference. Now back to that spinning prayer wheel known as a chainring... Truth is beauty, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, ergo truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Behold! A real bike in a suitcase!
