@410158 I am only a recent convert, but I too started on Elfego Baca and have just discovered T.H.E. cat! Yay! He's wonderful!

it wasn't on long that is for sure. as you stated one year, maybe two. i was about 5 when it came on. i was shocked many years later to discover the guy from an officer and a gentleman and lost highway, etc. played THE cat!

Ditto - Friday nights, I want to say 9:00 p.m. Was it on one year or two years? I remember that it had two openings, this one and one without the voiceover. In the other one he would always announce his name to somebody: Thomas Hewitt Edward Cat. Then they'd cut to the music. Cool, huh?

I loved this show as a kid. Thanx for posting it. I haven't been able to find it in over 40 years!

If that isnt a movie set then I don't know what is

The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca 1959. Disney rushed it out after the success of Davy Crockett. It is on a great boxed set with Swamp Fox (with Leslie Nielsen) easily obtained on ebay.

And after the fact, Robbie L. still had a sweet mustache. So I ask again, when was he not kicking ass?
And Tony didn't kill him, all he did was say "choot this piece a chit meng."
love the show, Robert Loggia was great playing that roll.

Thanks for your comment. One of the coolest opening title sequence ever and that animation, eh? Love the voice over - "Brutal!...Savage!" wish they would put out a DVD set.
Happy Holidays!
