This six minute music inspired short was made for the A2 Film Studies Practical Application of Learning aspect of my coursework.

It was scripted and edited by myself, and features the instrumental music 'Born Yesterday' by Rob Dougan.

Thanks to all my friends who helped me out and acted in it, especially James and Ed who had their own films to be getting on with.

Murder, trench coats, revolvers, burning documents, tea... what more could you want!?

Hope you enjoy!

  • hey dude, im doing film aswell at wimbledon college aswell, just wondering, wt did u use for the blood effect?

  • Hey, cool, good luck with it!

As for the blood, I actually just used some pretty rubbishy fake blood from a fancy dress shop, but it looks a bit more realistic, I hope anyway, due to the contrast effects I put on the footage.

  • Imust know what camera and editing programs you used. I must.. id be very grateful oh, and as the other guy said what grade did you get.

  • Hey, thanks for the comments guys!

But yeh, to answer your question, Im not entirely sure what camera I used, I borrowed it from a mate of mine, I no it was pretty top end though and from Sony.

The Editing suit I used was 'Sony Vegas Movie Studio', you can download a free trial of it from google.

As for grade, overall (including my exam)I was a couple of marks off an A, so the film was either an A or a high B.

    Hope that helps!

  • Hello Marcello!

    Hope you are well.

I can confirm that your film got 45/45, an A*!

I still show it at open evenings and to the new AS students to steer them away from physical violence / torture / suicide / mutant zombies which all seem popular choices when making a film for the first time.

    Thanks for the resource!

    Mr. P

  • Great short! Love the editing style and the music. Like many others commenting, I'm also a film studies student and love seeing such enthusiasm from other people.

  • that aint too bad, u musta had a nice bit of time n a budget for that, i did my project in two nights and with a cheap ass shared camrea from my school, still got an A for it tho, but uhh yea, not bad work, bit dry,, just dragged on like a hooker on a bumper after u hit her.but all in all, a nice piece of work.

  • Man did you use a cap gun for the gunshots or was it something else???

  • Hey, how did you get the transitions between shots? like the fades etc? If you get me lol

    Thanks..

  • wow this is a really good short film! you have given me loads of ideas for my A2 film cw, especialy with camera angles etc... thanks :)

  • Very nice, wish that I knew about Sony vegas was free for a trail as I had to do a trailer for media. Would have been a lot better if I had known.

Check it out if you have time.

  • Again awesome!

Well done man! Great imagination! 5*

  • Hey, it's funny you ask that. Today in Film Studies we were discussing the same thing. I personally think that its just generally easier to make a dark and grim film than a happier one. The things used for a dark movie are so much easier to sort out. Also, thinking of the story line is easier.

For our class, it's kind of hard to make a happy film in november lol. With the weather being all dark and bleh and coldd.

    But yeah.
