Yesterday it was reported that the first oiled bird had been discovered in the area affected by lat week's Shell oil spill in the North Sea. This animation looks at how oil spills harm birds. Oil continues to seep into the North Sea a week after a Royal Dutch Shell platform spilled more than 200 tons of oil into the sea. The spill was announced by the company on Friday and is in the North Sea about 112 miles east of Aberdeen, Scotland. Source: International Rescue Bird, Daily Record
