I recognized the music. It was that Camp Rock song that they played at the soundcheck. Gotta find you, I think?
Joe started singing the song. He came over, standing in front of Danielle. He got to the second chorus, and looked directly at Danielle with dreamy eyes as he sang "Painting all my dreams the color of your smile." She smiled hugely and then he took her hand, singing straight to her.
"When I find you it will be alright. I need to try to get to where you are. Could it be, your not that far?" With that, he winked at her. "You're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm singing. I need to find you, I gotta find you. You're the missing piece I need, the song inside of me. I need to find you, I gotta find you." He kissed the back of her hand and then looked at Ava and motioned her towards him. The bodyguard dude picked her up and handed her to Joe, who held her in his arm as they sang the song together. Ava could barely even sing to him because she was still freaking out about the whole Joeholdingandsingingtome thing.
When they finished singing, Joe said, "You have a beautiful singing voice," to Ava, then kissed her cheek before sending her back down to us and winking one last time at Danielle before saying "Thank you!" to the crowd and going to change for one last song. Danielle and Ava both sat down, sighing heavily.
"He loves me," Ava said with a preoccupied look on her face.
"He loves one of us, alright," I commented after her, talking mostly to Danielle who couldn't help but smile. ------
After the concert was over, we decided to wait a while for the parking lots and traffic to clear. We were sitting around, just talking when Joe and Nick both ran up onto the stage, trying to get ahead of the other. Nick was behind for a second, but then splurged and jumped over Joe's head, getting in front. They stopped in front of us.
"Heyyy..." they said in unison, trying to sound casual.
"Uh..." Danielle stuttered, staring like they were crazy people.
"So, uh, we saw that you guys were still sitting out here, and just wanted to ask and see if you guys wanted to, ya know, maybe..." Nick tried to say.
"You guys wanna come hang out with us for a little while?" Joe finished for him.
"Sure," Ava jumped in with quickly.
Danielle and I looked at her with glares. "Um, I mean, we would, but...uh," I tried to explain, and Danielle had my back.
"BUT, we have to get home. I..." She emphasized the "I". "...need to get home," she said.
"But you're spending the night tonight. And my mom said we don't have to be home right afterwards. And I'm sure if she found out we were hanging out with the JONAS BROTHERS, she'd be totally fine with it. AND..." Ava was saying, but I cut her off before she could say anything else.
"AND...mom just called me and said that we need to get home right afterwards," I lied.
"I didn't hear it. Prove it," she challenged.
"Damn..." I said under my breath. "I...deleted her call. It won't show up on my phone," I told her.
"No, she didn't Allie. Stop lying. Come on guys, let's go!" Ava said, getting up onstage and taking the boys hands. I looked over at Danielle, who rolled her eyes sighing and we followed. I had no other choice. ------
We talked. And played video games. And played hide&seek. And ate some pizza. And it was 12:30.
"Okay, now we really have to go. I'm not kidding either this time, Ava. It's 12:30," I told everyone after I returned the text from Danielle. The whole night, we were texting each other, talking about how ridiculous these boys were, how they were totally just putting on an act just to keep their fans.
I didn't believe anything I was saying...
"Aw, really?" Joe said.
"Mhm," Danielle responded, staring at him.
"That stinks," Ava said, then walked over to the guys. She gave them all hugs and goodbyes and they all kissed her cheek, and then she came over to me.
"Okay, bye! Thanks for tonight," I said, and turned to leave holding Ava's hand with Danielle in tow.
DANIELLE'S POV
"What, no hugs from you two? Ya know, you guys are pretty harsh," I heard Nick say to our backs.
Allie stopped in her tracks, stood there for a second, then turned around. "And ya know, you guys are pretty demanding. But we're putting up with it, aren't we?" she snapped. I could tell she really was getting annoyed now, and it was kinda surprising because I really thought she did like Nick.
