I want to update my comment from a year ago...I found some Betty Crocker Cake Mix spots taken from an early 1950's sitcom called THE TROUBLE WITH FATHER. It was from a book about Garland's variety show that said they were General Mills' first prime-time spots.

@hjebone I'm guessing Irene Tedrow from her voice and looks. Definitely not June Foray, who was rather short and blonde.
-
The "Terribly Adult" tag actually had some relevance...I understand these spots were the first ads General Mills ever aired in prime time, after years in daytime/children's programming. And regarding FromtheSideline's dating them from 1962, I also believe the show in question was Judy Garland's ill-fated CBS variety program from 1963.

@hjebone Naomi Mack is the actress. A very funny woman

Proof that drugs have always been a part of our culture.

I remember this commercial--for some reason it vanished from the air in a hurry, but not so soon that I couldn't remember it. I thought it was hilarious. And now I find out Freberg created it. Duh!

Typically droll and extremely funny Stan Freberg. Does anyone know the name of the actress doing the commercial? She was one of his stock company and was on "Freberg Underground" LP and others. Might be June Foray, might not.

Got a pill - like a Mother's Little helper? Thanks man!

Pssst! Hey, kid... Want a terribly adult cereal? Here, have some cigarettes too. :)

She reminds me of Carol Burnette
This was one of a series of Cheerios spots Freberg produced for General Mills around 1962 (originally on videotape, later seen via kinescope film)- another one parodied David Susskind's syndicated late-night discussion program, "OPEN END" {Stan's version was "Open Oat"}.
