@zolochnaya - because theyre not singing this while in the play, so of course they're not performing it in the context of the dramatic throughline. It's just a lovely duet. You wouldn't expect the many times this is sung at weddings to include all that frantic interpretation.

Where are the pictures of Rebecca Luker? She has been by far the best Christine I have seen in the last 20 years of "Phantom."
