Lisa Lillien, founder of hungry-girl.com, remembers testing "low-fat" Trader Joe's Chili Lime Chicken Burgers in a food lab and discovering they actually contain 12 fat grams, instead of the 3 grams listed on the label. "If you eat something that seems too good to be true, then trust your instincts," she warns.

  • Nobody's offended by the notion of losing weight. That insult is mentally lazy, and so is your judgmental arrogance.

You talk like you're the first genius to ever invent the idea of telling people to eat healthy and get exercise. Your advice is no more welcome or useful here than a get-rich-quick spam email.

Your asinine comments are even more offensive on a video about foods falsely labeled as low fat. Can you understand why that might be? Answer carefully and respectfully, or just go away.

  • She tested 1 burger. Great "scientist". She obviously doesn't understand statistics as she has no concept of what a sample size is.

  • wtf??

  • My FAVORITE guilty candy is the snack size "Big hunk" bars. One snack size bar has 50 cals and they last me forever (because its so chewy, i can only take tiny bites)... then... I weighed it. *cry*

The serving for 50 cals is 12 grams, the ones I was weighing were more like 17.

*sigh* BUT, now I just cut off the extra till it weighs the right amount, and save the extra till its 12 grams worth again for a spare snack. lol

  • this is soo true

  • What?! I feel so lied to.... T.T

I wonder how much my "half-fat" icecream goes for...?

  • hmmm, yeah know why people get fat?because they eat too many carbs, suger and starch in foods.

say if you eat a fast food burger,do you think the meat is bad,or just the whole thing?will, the meat is actually the healthiest thing on a burger, the least healthiest part is the bun/bread.Oh,and subway lies to it's costumers, the sandwiches don't let you lose wait! If anything it makes you GAIN wait,so yeah, don't be stupid, eat smart, eat meat, eat bacon and eggs, don't eat so much fruit and look atTHElabel!

  • that quote is perfect. So many people put way too much trust in everything they hear

  • Check out Dr Weston A Price who destroys the myths about saturated fat and cholesterol. He researched the high fat diets of unindustrialized indigenous peoples all over the world who had extraordinary health. For thousands of years they ate a local diet rich in animal source saturated fats and organ meats. Their food was local, whole and unprocessed. They didn't eat prepackaged "Chili Lime Chicken Burgers". Worry about the chemicals, GMOs, HFCS in that processed crap not the saturated fats.

  • I apologize for my judgmental arrogance.

Although I would not call my comments asinine since they seem to work for me and anyone else whom is not obese. And I'm not blaming the individual, but the overwhelming cultural norm for unhealthy lifestyles and the dependence on others to make your life healthy.

Trusting labels is the same thing as eating 'fat free' ice cream or drinking Coke 'zero'. So my comments are in fact supporting this clip and are not intending to be offensive.
