4 Weeks to go! Only a couple of 'downs' this week, mostly 'ups'. I also discuss Dr Harvey Karp's video 'The Happiest Baby on the Block' which is awesome and makes me feel so much more qualified to calm and comfort my baby. If you haven't checked out his DVD yet, please do so if you are expecting a baby or the parent of a newborn to 8 month old. What a huge help!

His website is www.thehappiestbaby.com and if you navigate there a short video plays automatically that will explain a little about why his approach is so EASY and magical. Thank goodness for Dr. Karp! If any of you out there have already tried his methods, please comment and let me know how they worked for you (or didn't).

  • georgeous...do you have a flickr account?

  • Thank you. No, I don't have a flickr account.

  • Did, you ever have strangers wanna touch your belly?

  • No, I didn't. I always heard horror stories but no one tried it. I think I must've put off the 'don't touch me' vibe. :)

  • I listened to the pregtastic episode that talked about the 5 S's when they first aired it and it was amazing!!!! I always thought that you should keep babies away from noise, but that episode really helped me to understand the whole environment transition from the womb to outside!

Anyway, you look great as always!!! I hope you get to go down to see your in-laws without any problems!

Also, can the support belt be used for postpartum support?

  • I know, isn't that the craziest thing? We always think our babies want it to be really quiet because that's how we like to sleep but it makes so much sense to use white noise when you think about how noisy it is inside the womb. Why didn't anyone think of this sooner?! :)

Oh, and yes the support belt is made to work for prenatal as well as postpartum support. After you have the baby you turn it around so the wide part is in front, holding all your extra jiggly stuff in. :) It's by Boppy.

  • @lifebodyfit As beautiful as you were during your pregnancy I don't see how a vibe like that could kick off. But that's just my opinion

  • I realize this is a good year after the fact or so, but peppermint worked well for me for acid reflux :)

  • @lifebodyfit : ur welcome...how about other site or blog?

  • I never thought to drink sparkling water to get rid of acid reflux while I was pregnant. My daughter is 15 months now but when I was pregnant with her, I had bad acid reflux in my throat while I was pregnant. My doctor prescribed an acid reducer and I had to take it every morning or I would get heartburn. It worked well but I would have rather not taken any medication. So I will definitely try sparkling water the next time I am pregnant, if I get heartburn! Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Yes, it's made by Be Be Au Lait and I had to look forever on craigslist to find one close enough for it to be worth the drive. They have lots of gorgeous designs so it ends up looking nice when you're out in public.
